Recycled Climbing Rope, Birch Plywood, Aluminium Tube
For this site-specific project I designed for the area under the Cambie St Bridge in Vancouver on its north side, focusing on a railing between a basketball court and playground. I chose this area for its limited pallet of industrial materials and colours, and for its obvious lack of seating to support the court and skatepark space. Through an iterative design process, I made a portable and modular chair to mount to this railing that is made from materials that reflect BC’s outdoors and that are not found at this site.
